 GEORGETOWN stands alone atop the District 23-5A standing at 4-0, Pflugerville Weiss is hot on their tail at 3-0 with Pflugerville at 2-1 and East View at 2-2.

 The big game of the first half is at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Weiss. which is coming off its open date on Tuesday night. The Lady Eagles bested Hendrickson Tuesday night. GHS bested the Hawks, 3-0 (25-12,25-18, 27-25. It was a complete sweep at the JV/FX and Freshman also won their matches in straight sets.

 "We played really well the first 2-sets. We did an excellent job serving and executing the small stuff," GHS coach Jenny Richardson said. "Very proud of how we are handling tough situations. This Hendrickson team is rebuilding and will be studly next year!"

 The victory improved GHS to 28-7 for season and dropped Hendrickson to 1-2, 16-21. Weiss will take a 29-8 season mark into Friday's showdown with Georgetown.

 Georgetown's offense hit .340 during the Hendrickson match with 43 43 kills in 100 hits with just nine errors. Senior Addy Gaido used her 6-foo-t frame to put down 14 kills n 27 attempts. Sophomore Amelia Albright had nine kills on 13 hits and sophomore middle Sofia Jazesf found the range on eight of 12. Seniors Isabbella Casanova and Addison O'Shaughnessy feed the attack with 16 assists each. Casanova and Gaidp produced four and two, respectively, of GHS nine aces in 75 serves.

 Defensively, senior Raegan Ramirez and Gaido had 13 and 12 of Georgetown's digs. GHS had three total blocks with three players having one each.

 The Last Eagles will close out the first half he 12-game 23-5A campaign Tuesday when the take their district bye and entertain Round Rock 6:30 p.m. and the play district rival Pflugerville on Friday, Oct. 4, at 5:30 p.m. GHS will celebrate Faculty Night against Cedar Creek and Homecoming against Pflugerville.

 Sub-varsity games at Weiss Friday will have the JV playing at and JV Flex matches at 5:30 p.m. and the Freshman A game at 6:30 p.m.
